Ellis Brook Valley Reserve, Nature reserve in City of Gosnells, Australia.
Ellis Brook Valley Reserve is a nature reserve with four distinct walking trails spanning over two kilometers through wetlands and woodlands home to many native species. The paths connect different habitats and provide opportunities to observe the variety of plants and animals that live here.
The reserve was established in 1986 as an important step to preserve the natural habitat at the base of Darling Scarp. This protection has allowed the landscape to remain intact for future generations to experience.
The Wajuk People have maintained a long connection to this land, which encompasses diverse ecosystems and supports local wildlife populations. Visitors can sense this heritage as they walk through the landscape and encounter its natural diversity.
Access is available from two parking areas: Honeyeater Hollow and Valley Head, both equipped with facilities for outdoor activities and wildlife watching. The trails are well-marked and suitable for walkers of different ability levels, making a visit straightforward and enjoyable.
The area is home to over 500 wildflower species and features a seasonal waterfall, Sixty Foot Falls, that flows after heavy winter rainfall. This rare cascade forms only during wetter periods and reveals how seasonal rain patterns shape the landscape.
