Lesmurdie Falls

Lesmurdie Falls plunge about 50 meters over granite cliffs in Mundy Regional Park, creating a vertical cascade against the Darling Scarp landscape. The water flows through different levels and pools as it descends the rocky terrain.

The Department of Parks and Wildlife established Mundy Regional Park in 1957 to protect the natural cascade system for public access. This decision opened the area to visitors and ensured its long-term preservation.

The Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation considered this water source sacred and visited it for many generations before European arrival in the region. Visitors today can experience the place as part of the area's longer story and connection to the land.

Several viewing platforms offer close looks at the cascades, and walking trails of varying difficulty extend from these points throughout the park. Water flow is strongest during winter and spring when rainfall is higher in the region.

Near Palm Terrace stands a gravity hill where an optical illusion makes objects appear to roll uphill against the laws of physics. This puzzling effect draws curious visitors who want to test the strange phenomenon for themselves.
