Bekasi Utara, Administrative district in Bekasi City, Indonesia
Bekasi Utara is an administrative district in Bekasi City comprising six subdistricts: Kaliabang Tengah, Perwira, Harapan Baru, Teluk Pucung, Margamulya, and Harapan Jaya. The area is predominantly residential with low-lying terrain.
The area emerged as part of Bekasi City's expansion when it separated from Bekasi Regency on December 16, 1996. This separation addressed the region's growing urban development and administrative needs.
The district is home to Javanese, Betawi, and Sundanese communities who share residential spaces and shape local daily life. People gather in neighborhood markets and public areas, where traditional practices and local customs remain visible in everyday activities.
The district connects easily to Jakarta through KRL Commuterline trains and TransJakarta buses. Getting around and reaching neighboring areas is straightforward with these transport options.
The district serves as a significant residential hub within the Jabodetabek metropolitan area, bridging Jakarta and Bekasi. Its location makes it an important connector between the urban center and outer regions.
