Cirebon Prujakan railway station, Railway station in Cirebon, Indonesia
Cirebon Prujakan Railway Station is a railway station in West Java with nine operational tracks serving passenger movements. One side platform and four island platforms allow travelers to board and exit trains across the facility.
The station began in 1897 as a freight facility for a private rail company. It originally connected farm products from surrounding areas to Cirebon's port.
The station has prayer rooms that reflect how faith shapes the daily routines of passengers and local visitors. People of different beliefs use these spaces, making them part of the station's social fabric.
The station has ticket machines, information desks, waiting areas, and restrooms for travelers. Expect crowds during peak travel hours when more trains arrive and depart.
The station still shows traces of the old rail line to the harbor that once ran through densely populated neighborhoods until the 1980s. This connection no longer operates, but its physical remains are visible in several spots around the area.
