You Yangs Regional Park, Regional park between Melbourne and Geelong, Australia

You Yangs Regional Park is a 3,244-hectare reserve between Melbourne and Geelong featuring granite peaks, woodlands, and wetland areas. The landscape offers numerous walking trails and designated spots for observing native wildlife across its varied habitats.

The granite peaks formed through ancient volcanic activity, creating a natural landmark visible across the surrounding flat terrain. These formations have shaped the landscape between the two cities for millions of years.

The Wadawurrung People use this land for their traditional practices and maintain a living connection to it today. Local guides sometimes share stories about the site's meaning in their customs.

The park has nine picnic areas with tables and facilities spread throughout its grounds. Around 50 kilometers of mountain biking trails cater to different skill levels, so both beginners and experienced riders can find suitable routes.

Flinders Peak is one of the highest points and requires about 450 steps to reach the top. On clear days, the view extends all the way to Melbourne, making this climb a popular destination.
