Chirnside Park, park in Victoria, Australia
Chirnside Park is a sports venue and park in Werribee, Victoria, featuring a large grass oval surrounded by traditional wooden stands. The grounds also contain tennis courts, a public swimming pool, and a bowling club, all spread across an open outdoor site.
The grounds were established in the early 20th century and have served as a centre for Australian rules football in the area ever since. Floodlights were installed around 2011, making night games possible for the first time.
The park became a gathering place for the Polish community in Werribee during the late 1960s, hosting annual festivals that drew thousands of visitors. These events created a tradition of combining sports with cultural celebrations that shaped how the community used this space.
The grounds are easy to reach on foot or by car, with parking available close by. The site is largely flat and open, making it easy to move around for visitors of all ages.
The Werribee Tigers have played here since the club was founded, meaning several generations of families have watched home games at this very ground. The wooden stand design dates from earlier decades and is now rarely found at grounds of this type.
