Hedgeley Dene Gardens encompasses ornamental lakes, walking paths, and diverse plant species spread across 8.5 acres of landscaped terrain in Victoria.
The land was purchased in 1877 by solicitor Edward Charsley, who named it after Hedgerley in England, before becoming a dairy farm and golf course.
Returned soldiers contributed to the gardens' development after World War I by planting Turkey Oaks, initiating formal gardening practices in 1924.
Visitors can access the gardens via Bus route 624 along Wattletree Road or through Darling train station on the Glen Waverley line.
The gardens recreate the characteristics of northern European landscapes within an Australian setting, connecting Central Park to Gardiners Creek valley parklands.
