Hedgeley Dene Gardens

Hedgeley Dene Gardens is a public park in Malvern East featuring ornamental lakes, walking paths, and a variety of trees and plants across landscaped grounds. The vegetation and water features are arranged to guide visitors through different zones, creating several connected areas to explore.

A solicitor purchased the land in 1877 and named it after an English place, with the site later serving as a dairy farm and golf course. After World War I, returning soldiers planted trees and transformed it into a formal garden starting in 1924.

The garden's name reflects its connection to an English village, and visitors walk through spaces that echo a European countryside feeling. This heritage influences which plants grow here and how people experience the pathways and green spaces today.

The garden is accessible by bus and train from nearby stops, with level paths that are easy to walk along. The pathways circle the lakes and are well marked, making it simple to move around the entire site at your own pace.
