City of Kingston

City of Kingston is an administrative division located south of Melbourne and spans a large area along Port Phillip Bay. The region consists of various residential neighborhoods, business zones, and green spaces that together form a diverse suburban community.

The municipality was created in 1994 through the merger of several earlier administrative districts in the Melbourne area. This unification formed a single administrative structure for the southern suburbs.

Nine public libraries across Kingston provide educational resources, digital services, and community programs to residents through branches in Chelsea, Cheltenham, Clarinda, Parkdale, and Westall.

The administrative offices are located in Cheltenham and offer residents various municipal services and government dealings. The area is well connected by public transport and has several centers with different facilities.

The Waves Leisure Centre features a 50-metre swimming pool and wave pool facility, serving as a central recreational destination for the community.
