Hawke, Electoral division in Victoria, Australia.
The Division of Hawke is an electoral region northwest of Melbourne that covers the areas of Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Melton, and Sunbury. It spans across portions of five local government councils and serves as one of Victoria's federal voting districts.
This electoral division was established in 2022 by the Australian Electoral Commission to respond to population increases in the region. It was created by redistributing portions of the neighboring divisions of Ballarat, Gorton, and McEwen.
The division recognizes Robert James Lee Hawke, who led Australia as Prime Minister from 1983 to 1991 and represented the Division of Wills.
The region is accessible by multiple transport routes, as it spans across several local government areas. Visitors should note that the area comprises several separate communities, each with its own services and facilities.
The 2022 federal election recorded 87,184 formal votes and 7,735 informal votes, with Labor candidate Sam Rae securing 36.73 percent of the total votes.
