Ingle Hall, Georgian-style building in Hobart, Australia
Standing on the corner of Macquarie and Argyle Streets, Ingle Hall features symmetrical architecture with original stone walls and timber framing.
The building dates back to approximately 1814 and represents one of the earliest surviving structures in Tasmania, predating official government record-keeping.
The structure has transformed from a residence to a school, coffee palace, boarding house, and library throughout its existence in Hobart.
The building previously housed the Mercury Print Museum, displaying historical printing equipment and documents from Tasmania's publishing industry.
The initial ownership remains uncertain between John Ingle and Edward Lord, both arriving in Hobart Town with Lieutenant-Governor David Collins in 1804.
