Hunter Valley Wildlife Park is a zoo with over 110 animal species spread across 18 acres near Cessnock. Visitors encounter African lions, koalas, wombats, dingoes, and Tasmanian devils in separate habitats throughout the grounds.

The zoo sits about 5 minutes from Cessnock and opens Thursday through Tuesday from 9 AM to 4 PM. Wear comfortable shoes since exploring the grounds involves considerable walking and shade is limited during hot weather.
Visitors can buy animal food at reception and hand-feed creatures in designated areas - farm animals, lorikeets, kangaroos, and camels. These direct encounters make the visit unusually interactive and memorable.
