Rugby League Park, Multi-purpose sports venue in Canterbury Region, New Zealand
Rugby League Park is a multi-purpose sports complex in Canterbury Region with seating for 18,000 people and a design developed by Populous. The stands run along both long sides of the pitch, complemented by covered areas at each end.
The site was known as Addington Showgrounds until 1997 and originally served as exhibition space. Following the 2011 Christchurch earthquake, the facility was completely rebuilt after large parts of the structure were damaged.
The name used by rugby league events reflects local pride in the code, while residents often use the sponsor name when talking about concerts or other gatherings held at the same site.
Buses run directly to the entrance, and several parking lots are within walking distance around the facility. Food stands and toilets are distributed across the site, reducing wait times during well-attended matches.
Since opening, the stadium has changed names several times through rotating sponsorship deals and has been called Apollo Projects Stadium since 2023. Despite official names, locals often continue using earlier versions or simply refer to it as 'the stadium' in everyday conversation.
