Auckland Botanic Gardens

Auckland Botanic Gardens is a botanical garden in Manurewa featuring distinct sections including African Plants, Conifer, Herb, and Rose Gardens spread across open grounds. Each zone presents different plant collections organized by type and origin.

The gardens were created to gather plant collections representing both native New Zealand species and international flora for research and education. This collection grew from an intention to study and preserve diverse plant types in one location.

The Potter Children's Garden allows young visitors to explore plants and growth through hands-on discovery. This area shows how gardens serve as teaching spaces for families and schools in the community.

The gardens are open daily from early morning and offer free entry with parking available on site. Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes as the pathways cover considerable ground between garden sections.

Sculpture paths wind through the grounds, combining art installations with the natural plantings along the route. These walking paths offer visitors a blend of contemporary art and botanical exploration not typical of most gardens.
