Scenic Skyway

The Scenic Skyway is an aerial cable car that crosses between two cliff tops in the Blue Mountains, spanning about 720 meters at a height of roughly 270 meters above the valley floor. The cabin accommodates up to 84 passengers and features windows and floor sections that offer views across the landscape below.

The cable car opened in 1958 as Australia's first aerial tramway system, introducing a new way for visitors to experience the mountains. The system was substantially upgraded in later decades to improve passenger safety and comfort with modern engineering.

This cable car connects two cliff tops in one of Australia's most visited natural areas, allowing visitors to experience the landscape from a vantage point that would otherwise be unreachable on foot.
