Orphan Rocker

Orphan Rocker is a steel roller coaster at Scenic World in Katoomba that winds along the natural landscape of the Blue Mountains. The ride follows the terrain through steep curves and incorporates the dramatic cliff edges into its track layout.

Construction began in 1988 as the first roller coaster designed and built entirely within Australia. This project represented a milestone in the country's amusement park engineering history.

The roller coaster gained national attention when it appeared on the television show Just for the Record in the early 1990s.

The ride is currently not accessible to the public but can be viewed from outside the park. Visitors may observe the track structure and layout from various vantage points within the Scenic World grounds.

A section of the track was built directly on a steep cliff edge and features a dramatic U-shaped turn. This bold construction showcases how the designers adapted the ride to the rugged terrain.
