The sandstone building at 127-129 George Street features timber balconies, a central corridor, and original metal doors with window grilles.
The structure, completed in 1882 and designed by architect James Barnet, stands on the site of Sydney's first General Hospital from 1788.
Queen Victoria's initials and a lion head holding a police truncheon remain visible above the entrance archway as symbols of law enforcement.
The former police station now houses Sergeant Lok restaurant, offering visitors a chance to experience the heritage building's interior spaces.
This building represents one of only two remaining nineteenth-century police stations in central Sydney, with cells maintaining original fixtures.
