West Epping Park, Park in Hornsby Shire, New South Wales, Australia
West Epping Park is a public park in the Field of Mars area of Hornsby Shire, to the north of Sydney in New South Wales. It has play equipment for children, covered picnic areas with barbecue grills, walking paths, sports courts and fields, and a fenced off-leash dog area.
The land around West Epping Park was once rural farmland before it was turned into a public green space. Over the years, play structures, sports facilities, and shade sails over the toddler area were added as the local community grew.
The park sits on Mountain Street in Epping and is easy to reach by car, with parking available nearby, or on foot from surrounding streets. On warmer days it fills up early, so arriving in the morning gives you a better chance of finding a shaded spot near the play areas.
The park has water fountains designed for both people and dogs, making it one of the few green spaces in the area that explicitly caters to pets. This means visitors who bring a dog can stay as long as they like without needing to bring extra supplies.
