Alma House

Alma House stands as a two-story brick structure with Victorian Italianate design features, including a slate roof and prominent window bay at 114 Belmont Road.

Frederick Smith commissioned the construction of this residence in the mid-1890s, which later transformed into one of the first nursing schools in Mosman municipality.

The building reflects the architectural preferences of wealthy New South Wales residents during the late nineteenth century through its grand proportions and detailed craftsmanship.

The State Heritage Register listing from April 1999 maintains specific guidelines for preservation, ensuring the protection of the building's historical elements.

The property underwent a transformation in 2010 with a 3.6 million dollar renovation, converting the former nursing facility into a contemporary family residence.
