The Entrance Ocean Pools

The complex features three distinct pools: a 50-meter Olympic pool, a 22-meter medium pool, and a children's wading pool along Ocean Parade.

In 1919, Bob Roberts established the first swimming area by clearing dangerous rocks, leading to the construction of a formal pool structure in 1938.

The Entrance Amateur Swimming Club, established in 1953, transformed the pools into a center for competitive swimming and community gatherings.

The pools maintain a regular cleaning schedule every six to eight weeks through a channel system carved into the rock platform.

Olympic swimmer Dawn Fraser used these facilities for training between 1954 and 1956 while preparing for the Melbourne Olympic Games.
