St John's Anglican Church and Macquarie Schoolhouse

St John's Anglican Church features pointed sandstone walls, narrow arched windows, and a prominent belfry housing an original bell at its entrance point.

The church construction took place from 1819 to 1859, with architect Edmund Blacket designing the structure and James Atkinson Senior managing the building process.

The Macquarie Schoolhouse served a dual purpose, functioning as both an educational facility during weekdays and a place of worship on Sundays.

The heritage site contains multiple buildings across three acres, including a two-story Colonial Georgian schoolhouse with a ground floor verandah facing west and south.

The 1985 fire damage to Macquarie Schoolhouse required extensive repairs, including replacement of timberwork while maintaining its original structural elements.
