Scheyville National Park, National park in northwestern Sydney, Australia

Scheyville National Park covers 920 hectares of woodland and wetland habitats northwest of Sydney. The northern section contains Longneck Lagoon, a water body that draws various bird species.

The land belonged to the Dharug people for approximately 30,000 years before European settlers arrived in the 1790s. It was initially converted to Pitt Town Common for grazing livestock.

The park served as a migration center from 1950 to 1964, helping thousands of newcomers transition to Australian citizenship. Visitors can still see the buildings that housed this crucial chapter in the country's immigration story.

The park opens at 8 AM and closes at 6 PM during winter months. From September through April, hours extend until 8 PM.

During World War II, military training units used the site and its buildings for exercises. The Australian Air Force and specialized artillery companies conducted operations here.
