Captain Thunderbolt's Grave, Heritage burial site in Uralla, Australia
The marble headstone of Captain Thunderbolt stands within a white picket fence at the southern boundary of Uralla Pioneer Cemetery on John Street.
Frederick Wordsworth Ward, known as Captain Thunderbolt, was shot by Constable Alexander Walker at Kentucky Creek near Uralla on May 25, 1870.
The local New England residents funded and erected the commemorative headstone in 1914, marking the final resting place of the last New South Wales bushranger.
The Uralla Pioneer Cemetery provides free entry to visitors, with parking facilities and informational signage directing to the grave location.
Questions persist about whether any remains lie beneath the gravestone, as the body remained unburied for several days after death.
