Bowraville is a rural town in the Nambucca Valley area on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. It sits within agricultural lands and is crossed by the Nambucca River system.
The settlement began in the 1850s as Bowra, taking its name from the Gumbaynggirr word Bawrrung. It was renamed in 1870 to avoid confusion with another place called Bowral.
