Southport Pier is a wooden walkway that extends about 100 meters over the calm waters of the Broadwater near open parkland and green spaces. The simple structure offers unobstructed views of passing boats, the water, and the surrounding waterfront area.
The original pier was built in 1883 and served for over a century as a key spot for boats and travelers to arrive and depart. The old wooden structure was removed in 1969, and the current modern pier was constructed in 2009.

During the 1920s, a theatre operated on the historic pier showing films and hosting dance events before it burned down in 1932 and was rebuilt. This past reveals that the pier was once a lively entertainment hub for the community.
