Lockyer Hotel

The Lockyer Hotel is a two-story timber building with generous verandahs and a hipped corrugated iron roof, positioned at the street corner in Forest Hill. Inside, the structure contains two bars, upstairs rooms for guests, and a dining room that was added in the late 1970s.

The building was constructed starting in 1906 and received its publican license that same year. Ownership passed through different hands over the decades, with significant additions made to the structure during the 1970s.

This hotel served as a central meeting place for the Forest Hill community, particularly when the town emerged as a hub for agricultural trade. The spaces inside reflect the social habits of rural Queensland life during that period.
