Kondalilla National Park, Nature reserve in Sunshine Coast Regional, Australia
Kondalilla National Park is a nature reserve on the Sunshine Coast featuring a 90-meter waterfall set within subtropical rainforest. Several natural rock pools sit along the walking tracks, creating stops where the water is swimmable.
The Queensland Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing established this park in 2010 to protect local ecosystems. This protected status preserved the area for both natural conservation and public recreation.
The name comes from an Aboriginal language, showing how indigenous peoples connected to this landscape. You can sense this cultural bond while walking through the natural spaces here.
The park has maintained walking trails with signage, sheltered picnic areas, and restroom facilities placed throughout. Good footwear is important because of numerous steps and wet ground conditions along the paths.
The walking circuit includes over 300 steps descending steeply through thick subtropical vegetation down to the waterfall's base. This long stairway connects the upper areas directly to the rock pools where the water flows.
