Sans Souci Beach

Sans Souci Beach is a sandy shore along the Pacific coast southeast of Honolulu near Diamond Head, with clear waters and a gentle slope for swimming. The beach features soft sand, protected coves, and easy entry points that make it accessible for visitors of varying abilities.

The area was once a retreat favored by Queen Liliuokalani and later developed into the Sans Souci Hotel in the early 1900s. The hotel gave the beach its name and left an imprint on how the location developed over time.

Local swimmers and paddlers use these waters as part of their everyday connection to the ocean, continuing practices rooted in Hawaiian tradition. The shore serves as a natural gathering place where the community maintains its bond with the sea.
