Mount Foraker, Mountain peak in Denali National Park, Alaska, US
Mount Foraker rises 5,304 meters above sea level, making it the second highest mountain in the Alaska Range and third highest in the United States.
The first successful climb to the summit occurred on August 10, 1934, when Charles Houston, T. Graham Brown, and Chychele Waterston ascended the west ridge route.
The Koyukon people named this mountain Sultana, meaning 'the woman', reflecting its connection to the nearby Denali peak in their traditional understanding.
Climbers must navigate the Sultana Ridge route through steep steps, cornices, and knife-edged sections that require advanced mountaineering skills and proper acclimatization.
In 2016, Colin Haley achieved the first solo ascent of Mount Foraker, completing the Infinite Spur route from bergschrund to summit in under 13 hours.
