The Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center is a 200,000-square-foot convention facility in downtown Anchorage that opened in September 2008. Its 47,400-square-foot Idlughet (Eklutna) Exhibit Hall doubles as a 5,000-seat theater for concerts and graduation ceremonies. Meeting rooms carry Athabascan names, and colors throughout the building reflect the region's changing seasons.

The Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center opened in September 2008, built at a cost of $111 million. The 200,000-square-foot facility raised Anchorage's civic and convention capacity by 300 percent. It is named for the Dena'ina people, who have lived in the Cook Inlet region since just after the last Ice Age.

The center is named after the Dena'ina people who lived in this region, and inside you will find local artwork and room names in their language. These touches acknowledge the indigenous heritage that shaped the area.
