Linny Pacillo Parking Garage, Public parking garage in downtown Anchorage, Alaska
Linny Pacillo Parking Garage is a ten-story structure in downtown Anchorage with nine floors of parking and retail spaces on the ground level. The building functions as both a parking facility and a ground-level commercial venue for local businesses.
Construction began in February 2007 as a state-funded project to replace parking that was removed during the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center development. The garage was built to address the parking needs created by other downtown development.
Each level displays artwork showcasing Alaskan plants and animals, connecting everyday parking to the state's natural world. These visual touches remind visitors of Alaska's landscape while they move through the garage.
The facility offers a mix of employee and visitor parking spaces to accommodate different needs. Ground-floor services including banking and vehicle registration offices are integrated into the space.
The garage is named after Carolyn Pacillo, who became known locally as the Parking Fairy. She and her sister gained attention by protesting parking violations in an unconventional and memorable way.
