The Sheridan Ski Club established the resort in 1948 with a rope tow system near Mews Apartments. Modern facilities were developed starting in 1973.

The resort opens from December through April and offers equipment rentals along with a heated lodge serving food and drinks. Trained staff members provide first aid support throughout the season.
The resort operates one of North America's oldest working chairlifts, acquired from Sun Valley, Idaho and installed by U.S. Army helicopters in 1974. This lift has been serving skiers for nearly 50 years.
