West Angeles Church of God in Christ is a broad, low cylindrical building on Crenshaw Boulevard in Jefferson Park, clad in reddish-brown brick or tile. A band of multicolored stained glass circles the upper curved wall above recessed dark rectangular windows. At the right, a tall angled tower in dark paneling with colored patterns rises past the roofline, topped by a plain white cross; the building sits on a low base behind a metal fence.

The church was founded in 1943 by Elder Clarence E. Church and grew significantly under later leadership. The current location moved to Crenshaw Boulevard in 1981, with major expansions since then to accommodate thousands of worshippers.

The church belongs to the Church of God in Christ, a Holiness Pentecostal denomination, and its name ties it to the West Angeles congregation founded in 1943.
