Wells Fargo Center, Office skyscraper in Downtown Los Angeles, United States
The Wells Fargo Center is a skyscraper in downtown Los Angeles featuring two connected towers linked by a three-story glass atrium in the middle. The tallest tower rises 723 feet (220 meters) and holds 54 floors served by 26 elevators.
The building was constructed in 1983 as Crocker Tower and renamed in 1986 following a merger between Crocker National Bank and Wells Fargo. This change reflected the consolidation of major financial institutions operating in Los Angeles.
The architectural design by Skidmore Owings Merrill represents a significant addition to the Los Angeles skyline, ranking as the city's seventh tallest structure.
The building houses major companies including Wells Fargo Bank and Oaktree Capital Management but is not open for public tours. The exterior can be viewed from surrounding downtown streets for a closer look at the architecture.
The building under construction was featured in the 1983 film Blue Thunder with scenes filmed on its incomplete upper floors. This appearance in the action movie provided a glimpse of the structure while it was still being built.
