The Colonel Fletcher Building occupies the northeast corner of 6th and Broadway, originally D Street, at 602–632 Broadway in downtown San Diego. It began as a two-story structure and two more floors were added, giving the four-story block seen today. Architect Edward Quayle of the Quayle Brothers designed it for Ed Fletcher and Frank Salmans.

Built between 1906 and 1908 by Ed Fletcher and Frank Salmans, the building originally served as a two-story department store. It was later expanded to four stories to accommodate changing business needs.

The corner site at 6th and D Street (now Broadway) drew department stores: Barnett-Stine Co. traded here until 1911, then Holzwasser's, which left for the Walker Scott Building in 1919, followed by the Owl Drug Company. The 2005 and 2008 renovations by Champion Development Group kept the 1906–1908 shell in retail use.

Tenants occupy the upper floors, so entry points and opening hours vary by business; check with the specific shop or office before visiting.

The building's upper two floors were added after it opened as a two-story Barnett-Stine Co. department store. When Barnett-Stine closed in 1911, Holzwasser's department store took the space, then left in 1919 for the larger building now called Walker Scott; the Owl Drug Company followed. Champion Development Group remodeled it around 2005, and it was renovated again in 2008.
