Wells Fargo Plaza is a 23-story office building in downtown San Diego that stands at the intersection of major business streets and forms part of the financial district. The complex provides office and retail space for a variety of tenants.

The building was completed in 1984 during a time of major growth in San Diego when financial companies were expanding into Southern California. Its construction marked an expansion of business infrastructure in the region.

Wells Fargo Plaza was designed by the San Diego firm Carrier Johnson Architects, which gave the 23-story tower its modern style. The building changed hands in November 2004, when The Irvine Company bought it for $148 million. Its name comes from the Wells Fargo bank, a name San Diegans also know from the stagecoach era of the Old West.

The complex is located near multiple bus stops and a trolley station, making it easy to reach by public transportation. Parking facilities are available for those arriving by car.

The Irvine Company bought the tower in November 2004 for $148 million, one of the largest single-building purchases in downtown San Diego at the time. The 23-story tower rises 339 ft (103 m), making it the 26th tallest building in the city.
