Torero Stadium, Multi-purpose sports venue at University of San Diego, United States
Torero Stadium is a multi-purpose sports venue at the University of San Diego with four separate seating areas that hold up to 6000 people. The south stands provide 1100 bleacher seats and house facilities for the press.
The University of San Diego built the venue in 1961 to provide a permanent home for its sports teams. A major renovation in 2001 expanded capacity and improved the lighting system significantly.
The venue welcomes three different professional sports teams that play their home matches here throughout their respective seasons. Soccer, rugby, and lacrosse players share the turf, making it a multi-sport gathering point for local fans.
The venue features modern sound equipment and a large Daktronics video board that shows replays and game information. Most seats offer good sightlines to the field, and the stands are accessible from multiple entry points.
In 2012, this became the first West Coast Conference facility to host NCAA national championship games on its own campus. The event brought teams from across the country to the venue and elevated its status within collegiate athletics.
