Lake Hemet, Water reservoir in San Jacinto Mountains, California.

Lake Hemet spans 470 acres at 4,340 feet elevation, surrounded by pine forests and supplied by the San Jacinto River.

Constructed in 1895, Lake Hemet Dam held the title of largest solid masonry dam worldwide until 1911, measuring 135 feet in height.

The reservoir appeared in the CBS television series Airwolf during the 1980s, featuring scenes of a character residing in a lakeside cabin.

The Lake Hemet Municipal Water District manages this 14,000-acre-feet capacity reservoir, providing water to communities in Riverside County.

The lake supports 51 agricultural customers while offering year-round camping facilities, fishing opportunities, and boat rentals for visitors.
