The museum, which opened in 2010 under the vision of former Target Corporation CEO Robert J. Ulrich, required an investment of 250 million dollars.
The Geographic Galleries divide instruments into five global regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America, each with video demonstrations by local musicians.
Visitors receive wireless headphones that automatically play audio when approaching video screens throughout the galleries, creating an individualized musical experience.
The Experience Gallery permits guests to play instruments from different cultures, including drums, guitars, gongs, and harps from various global regions.
