Holy Spirit Grotto

The grotto extends 60 meters in length, 20 meters in width, and 30 meters in height, containing 200 prehistoric drawings on its rocky walls.

Archaeological excavations in 1972 by Wolfgang Haberland revealed evidence of ancient human activities, including handmade arrows and obsidian knives inside the cave.

The cave holds importance for the Lenca people through their connection to Balam Colop legends and traditional beliefs about entrances to spiritual realms.

Visitors can access the site daily throughout the year with a Concultura guide available on location to provide information about the cave features.

The cave walls display drawings measuring between 4 and 50 centimeters, depicting human figures, snakes, birds, crabs, and negative handprints in multiple colors.
