Nutibara Sculpture Park, Sculpture garden at Nutibara Hill, Medellín, Colombia.
Nutibara Sculpture Park is an outdoor exhibition space with ten works by Colombian and international artists spread across the landscaped grounds of Nutibara Hill. The sculptures sit along pathways and among the vegetation, with pieces ranging from large metal forms to stone figures positioned at different elevations.
Colombia's first sculpture park was created in 1983 when a former president supported the project and coordinated its swift installation. Over the following decades, it became an established cultural landmark in the city's art scene.
The Museum of Modern Art of Medellín helped bring sculptures to this hilltop space, creating a place where contemporary art sits alongside native plants and stone pathways. Locals and travelers pass through here regularly, treating it as both an open gallery and a neighborhood gathering spot.
The park is open daily from early morning until evening and sits within walking distance of public transit connections. The terrain varies with some uphill sections, so visitors should wear comfortable shoes and allow time to explore at their own pace.
One of the central sculptures is named after the hill itself and originally stood in another part of the city before being relocated here in 1986. This relocation shows how public artworks in Medellín sometimes move across the city before finding their permanent home.
