Parc national naturel Selva de Florencia

The natural park spans 10,019 hectares between 1,700 and 2,300 meters above sea level on the eastern slopes of the Central Cordillera.

The region underwent significant changes when previous agricultural lands transformed into forests following the displacement of landowners during periods of conflict.

Sixty-nine farming families spread across thirteen villages maintain traditional agricultural practices within the park's boundaries without modern technological implementations.

Visitors reach the park through the Medellin-Bogota highway to La Dorada municipality, then follow the Dorada-Norcasia route to Florencia district.

The park contains the highest concentration of frog species in Colombia, with 71 percent of them being exclusive to this specific region.
