The Basilica of Saint Jude Thaddeus features pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and a central tower reaching 38 meters in height.
Construction of the church began on October 28, 1898, under architect Emigdio Rincón Velásquez and completed in August 1935.
The basilica serves the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sonsón-Rionegro and houses religious artworks depicting the life of Saint Jude Thaddeus.
The church measures 56 meters in length and 20.60 meters in width, with a central nave height of 12.85 meters.
The patron saint selection occurred through a drawing among various religious devotions, resulting in the dedication to Saint Jude Thaddeus.
