La Casa de la Marquesa

La Casa de la Marquesa is a colonial mansion in Querétaro's historic center featuring Mexican Baroque architecture with carved stone decorations and wrought iron details. The building contains fourteen suites with period furnishings, a restaurant serving Mexican cuisine, and spa facilities arranged around a central courtyard with gardens.

The mansion was built in 1756 by the Marquis of Villar del Águila as a private residence. Over time it welcomed important historical figures such as Agustín de Iturbide, establishing its role as a place of cultural significance.

Visitors can see original wall paintings and traditional Mexican design elements preserved throughout the decorated rooms. The art exhibitions held regularly here show how the place functions as a cultural space today.
