The institution opened its doors in March 2018 as the first museum dedicated to displaying the complete artistic production of Leonora Carrington.
Seven monumental sculptures stand in the museum patios, representing the mythological and mystical elements characteristic of Carrington's artistic expression.
The museum offers guided tours, educational programs, and specialized workshops centered on surrealist art techniques and interpretation methods.
The International Centre for the Study of Surrealism within the museum hosts annual symposiums and maintains research materials about the movement.
