Alamo Cenotaph, Marble sculpture at Alamo Plaza, San Antonio, US.

The Spirit of Sacrifice monument stands 60 feet tall in white Georgia marble, featuring carved figures of Alamo defenders in detailed relief panels.

Italian sculptor Pompeo Coppini created this memorial in 1936 to commemorate the centennial of Texas independence and the Battle of the Alamo.

The names of 187 known Alamo defenders are engraved on the monument, making it a central symbol of Texas resistance and determination.

The cenotaph remains accessible 24 hours daily in the heart of downtown San Antonio, near the Alamo mission complex entrance.

Four carved figures on the monument represent the major Alamo defenders: Travis, Crockett, Bowie, and Bonham, positioned at different height levels.
