Bishop's Palace, Victorian palace in Galveston, United States.
The Bishop's Palace stands as a four-story stone structure with extensive details, including carved wood, bronze dragons, and colored glass windows throughout its 19,082 square feet.
Constructed between 1887 and 1892 for lawyer Walter Gresham and his family, the building provided shelter to hundreds of survivors during the 1900 Galveston hurricane.
The palace contains numerous Victorian period elements, such as the dining room ceiling fresco painted by Mrs. Gresham and multiple original furniture pieces from the 1890s.
Visitors can take self-guided tours of the palace daily from 10 AM to 5 PM, with admission prices of $15 for adults and $12 for youth between 6 and 18 years.
The basement level, which previously contained servant quarters and kitchen spaces, now functions as a store selling historical and educational materials.
