South Main Baptist Church is a Protestant church in Midtown, Houston, featuring white stone walls and tall spires. The building contains multiple spaces designed for worship services, religious education, and community gatherings.

Founded in 1903 as Tuam Avenue Baptist Church, the congregation commissioned Sanguinet, Staats, Hedrick A and Gottlieb in 1924 to design a new building. Completed in 1930, it moved the church to South Main Street and gave it its present name; Dr. George W. Truett preached at the dedication. From 1934 to 1939 the building housed the University of Houston campus before the university moved to Cullen Blvd.

The congregation participates in global outreach programs, including Operation San Andres, which supports orphans in Peru.

The building is open during daytime hours, and people visit at different times for events and activities. Visitors should note that certain spaces may have varying availability depending on scheduled programs.

The architects Sanguinet, Staats, Hedrick A and Gottlieb were hired in 1924 for the Tuam Baptist Church, and the congregation moved into the finished building in 1930. Dr. George W.
