San Jacinto Center, Office building in Downtown Austin, United States
The San Jacinto Center features a 21-story office tower built with Texas creme limestone and Llano rose granite at 98 San Jacinto Boulevard.
The complex opened in January 1987 during Austin's construction boom, when 12 buildings with 15 or more floors were completed between 1980 and 1987.
The land beneath San Jacinto Center was not part of Edwin Waller's 1839 original plan for Austin, appearing only in the 1853 city expansion.
The development includes a commercial tower, a Four Seasons Hotel with 10 floors, and a 32-story Four Seasons Residences condominium building.
Initial plans called for twin office towers, but the eastern tower project was canceled due to economic challenges in the early 1990s.
