San Jacinto Center, Office building in Downtown Austin, United States
San Jacinto Center is a mixed-use complex in downtown Austin featuring a 21-story office tower, a Four Seasons Hotel, and a 32-story condominium building. The office portion uses Texas creme limestone and Llano rose granite on its exterior.
The complex opened in January 1987 during Austin's rapid growth period, when the downtown skyline expanded significantly. This development reflected the city's economic boom of the 1980s.
The land beneath San Jacinto Center was not part of Edwin Waller's 1839 original plan for Austin, appearing only in the 1853 city expansion.
The location sits in downtown Austin along San Jacinto Boulevard with good walkability to nearby shops and restaurants. Parking options exist both within the complex and on surrounding city streets.
The original plan included two office towers side by side, but the eastern tower was never built due to economic difficulties in the early 1990s. Only the western tower was completed as it stands today.
