Navarro College, Public community college in Corsicana, United States
Navarro College is a public educational institution in Corsicana, Texas, with additional locations in Midlothian, Waxahachie, and Mexia. The main campus includes classroom buildings, residence halls, libraries, dining areas, a planetarium, and a museum for students and visitors.
The institution started in 1946 on the grounds of a former World War II flight school after a countywide vote. Later, the college expanded to multiple locations to reach more communities in north and central Texas.
The museum in the Pearce Collections holds around 20,000 items from the Civil War era, along with paintings and sculptures depicting scenes from the American West. Visitors can see original uniforms, weapons, and personal belongings that document the daily lives of soldiers.
The campus sits in central Corsicana, about an hour south of Dallas along Interstate 45. Visitor parking is available near the main buildings, and most public facilities such as the museum and planetarium are accessible during events or by appointment.
The Cook Education Center houses a planetarium with a 60-foot dome and 140 seats for astronomical presentations. The facility offers regular public shows that let visitors observe constellations and celestial bodies in a controlled environment.
