Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site
Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site, Presidential birthplace museum in Denison, United States.
The two-story frame house contains period furniture and personal items reflecting the modest living conditions of the Eisenhower family in the late 1800s.
Dwight D. Eisenhower, who became the 34th President of the United States and commanded Allied forces during World War II, was born in this house on October 14, 1890.
The visitor center features exhibits documenting Eisenhower's path from his Texas birth through his military career and presidency of the United States.
The Texas Historical Commission maintains the site, offering guided tours Tuesday through Saturday from 9 AM to 5 PM with admission prices ranging from free to 6 dollars.
Local school principal Jennie Jackson initiated the preservation of this house by contacting General Eisenhower to verify his birthplace with his mother, Ida Elizabeth Stover.
